May 8

11 a.m. --Shortly before they took the field for practice No. 1, the Giants announced jersey numbers for the seven draft choices. Keep in mind they are subject to change --and frequently do.

8:36 a.m. --The Giants signedRB Damon Bankston(New Mexico), bringing their UDFA total up to seven ahead of rookie minicamp. After spending his first four years at Weber State, Bankston racked up career highs in total touchdowns (10), receptions (31), and receiving yards (397) in his lone season with New Mexico. Overall, he played in 51 games with 24 starts and racked up 33 touchdowns (27 rushing, four receiving, and two kickoff return). He ran a 4.43-second 40-yard dash at his pro day.

May 7

7 p.m. --The Giantssigned four draft picksto their rookie contracts:WR Malachi Fields(Round 3, No. 74 overall),DL Bobby Jamison-Travis(Round 6, No. 186 overall),OL J.C. Davis(Round 6, No. 192 overall), andLB Jack Kelly(Round 6, No. 193 overall).

5:55 p.m. --The Giants announced the signings ofsix undrafted free agentsahead of rookie minicamp:

  • DL Anquin Barnes Jr.(Colorado)

  • DL Ben Barten(Wisconsin)

  • CB Thaddeus Dixon(North Carolina)

  • LS Ben Mann(Boston College)

  • OL Ryan Schernecke(Kutztown)

  • K Dominic Zvada(Michigan)

11:39 a.m. --The Giants released four players:LB Swayze Bozeman,DL Elijah Chatman,WR Courtney Jackson, andDL Marlon Tuipulotu.
