EAGAN, Minn.Tavierre Thomas started another trip around the sun by agreeing to terms on a deal to stay with the Vikings.

Thomas, who turned 29 Wednesday, which is the first day of the New League Year, was slated to become an unrestricted free agent.

He will be back with Minnesota after joining the Vikings during 2025 free agency. Thomas appeared in all 17 games last season, primarily on special teams.

After being waived by the Cardinals following the preseason, Thomas signed with the Browns in September of 2018. In his first eight NFL seasons, Thomas recorded 193 defensive tackles, including six for loss, a sack, two quarterback hits and two interceptions, including one returned for a touchdown, in 115 games (22 starts). He has also posted 69 tackles on special teams and blocked two field goals.
