Game again comes down to end in 31-27 defeat

THE STORY: INDIANAPOLIS -- The Cardinals couldn't have asked for a much better game from Jacoby Brissett on Sunday.
The backup quarterback, playing because Kyler Murray was out with a foot injury, threw for 320 yards. But his final pass, a fourth-down throw to tight end Trey McBride in the end zone, fell incomplete with less than a minute left, and the Indianapolis Colts were able to hang on to a 31-27 win at Lucas Oil Stadium.
Once again, the Cardinals had a game come down to the game's final possession. They did it all through another rash of injuries, including losing wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. in the first half to a concussion. Brissett drove the Cardinals (2-4) to the Colts' 11 on a 31-yard bomb to Michael Wilson.
But the Cards couldn't punch it in for six points. McBride felt he was held on the final play by the Indianapolis defender, but there was no flag.
The Cardinals gained a season-high 400 yards.
