Panthers release depth chart ahead of Week 2 for the 2025 season

CHARLOTTE The Panthers released their second unofficial depth chart of the regular season on Tuesday, heading into Sunday's Week 2 matchup against the Arizona Cardinals.

The chart stayed the same as what was released ahead of Week 1, with no major or minor changes to note.

DespiteTershawn Wharton's hamstring injury suffered Sunday in Jacksonville, he remains at the top of the defensive end unit, withBobby Brown IIIin the second slot as a rotational player. Brown played 33 snaps against the Jaguars, 50% of the defensive plays. Dave Canales said on Monday Wharton would be getting an MRI to determine the extent of his hamstring injury, but initial returns expected two to four weeks. Canales will meet with media on Wednesday to provide new updates.

The entire pass catching corps will stay the same heading into Arizona, withTetairoa McMillanstarting in his second game. He finished with a game-high five receptions for 68 yards against the Jaguars. At tight end,Ja'Tavion Sanderscontinues to get the start as well.

On the defensive front, in addition to Wharton,Derrick Brown,A'Shawn Robinson,Patrick Jones IIandD.J. Wonnumremain the starters, with rookiesPrincely UmanmielenandNic Scourtongetting time at edge rusher.Jaden Crumedywill play behind Brown for the second week in a row, after being activated to the 53-man roster last week.

Special teams will roll with the same starting unit again, withTrevor Etienneas the primary returner on punt and kickoffs, andRyan Fitzgeraldgetting his second start in the NFL. The latter knocked through a 48-yard field goal in the first quarter against the Jags to get the Panthers on the board.
