LONDON, England: Nestle chocolate products has acknowledged that it is working through supply chain difficulties prior to the Christmas season, though officials reassured the public that its products will be available in stores for the holiday.

Supply chain problems have battered numerous industries in the UK, often a result of there not being available truck drivers to deliver products to stores.

"Like other businesses, we are seeing some labour shortages and some transportation issues, but it's our UK team's top priority to work constructively with retailers to supply them," according to Mark Schneider, Nestle CEO, as quoted by the BBC.

"We are working hard," he said, to ensure Nestle product will be available in stores.

Nestle, which also manufactures KitKat and Aero, is the top manufacturer of dairy items globally.

Prior to a key Glasgow-based climate summit in September, Schneider had paid a visit to the United Kingdom to launch a range of dairy-free and plant-derived substitutes for its chocolates, as well as milk.

"We think less meat and dairy is good for the planet, but it's also good for diet and health, and it is also a big commercial opportunity," Schneider said.
