Avalanche acquire Carl Soderberg from Blackhawks

The Colorado Avalanche acquired Carl Soderberg from the Chicago Blackhawks on Monday in exchange for fellow forwards Josh Dickinson and Ryder Rolston.

Soderberg, 35, is making his return to the Avalanche after collecting 151 points (57 goals, 94 assists) in four seasons (2015-19) with the club.

Soderberg has recorded 15 points (seven goals, eight assists) in 34 games this season with the Blackhawks.

He has 295 points (110 goals, 185 assists) in 586 career games with the Boston Bruins, Arizona Coyotes, Avalanche and Blackhawks. He was selected by the St. Louis Blues in the second round of the 2004 NHL Draft.

Dickinson, 23, has split time over the last three seasons with Colorado of the American Hockey League and Utah of the East Coast Hockey League. He had one goal and four assists in 15 games with the Eagles and Grizzlies in 2020-21.

Rolston, who is the son of former NHLer Brian Rolston, was selected by the Avalanche in the fifth round of the 2020 NHL Draft. The 19-year-old had six points (one goal, five assists) in 28 games this past season with Notre Dame.
