Tata Motors sales have declined heavily in the month of August and September 2019. Sales decline in Aug 2019 was at 60% while that in Sep 2019 was at 56%. Both months saw Tata register their lowest ever monthly sales in about 20 years.

For October 2019, the company is hoping for a revival in sales. Festive season is expected to help the struggling auto industry give some respite. To motivate buyers, Tata has announced exciting new discount offers for this month.

Compared to last month, discounts in the month of October 2019 are higher for select cars. For example, discounts on Tata Hexa have been increased to Rs 1.65 lakhs. Last month, discounts on Hexa were at Rs 1 lakh. Similarly, Tata Harrier discount offers have been increased to Rs 65,000. Earlier, discount offers were at about Rs 40,000.

Speaking about Hexa, it is the flagship SUV from Tata Motors. Earlier there were reports that the Hexa will be discontinued, as it will get replaced by Harrier based 7 seater called Buzzard. But Tata has rubbished these claims and have stated that Hexa will not be discontinued. Tata Hexa will be updated to meet BS6 norms next year.

Sales of Tata Hexa have been dismal in the past few months. In Sep 2019, sales declined by as much as 79%, to just 148 units. Sales in Sep 2018 were at 692 units. Added discount offer of up to Rs 1.65 lakhs is expected to bring in added sales this month.

Earlier this year, Tata Hexa got an update, which saw an addition of new features, at the same time deletion of a few from select variants. Tata Hexa, offered in XE, XM, XM+, XMA XT, XTA and XT 4×4 gets dual tone exteriors on the top end variants with roof finished in either Infinity Black or Titanium Grey.

The former can be combined with a Pearl White or Tungsten Silver body while the latter matches better with an Arizona Blue, Urban Bronze, or Sky Grey color scheme. The automatic variants are also seen with new 19" diamond cut alloy wheels while manual variants receive 17" charcoal grey alloy wheels.

Tata Hexa is powered by a 2.2 liter diesel engine, which is offered in two tunes of 148 hp / 320 Nm and 154 hp / 400 Nm. The former is mated to a 5 speed MT, the latter is offered in option of 6MT as well as 6AT. Ex-showroom price ranges from Rs 13.2 lakhs to Rs 18.81 lakhs.
